Is Your Life a Blur? Here’s How to Get Focused

A simple practice can give you clarity and help shape your future.

I used to feel unsure about myself.

Outside of work, I didn’t know:

  • What my strengths were

  • What I had accomplished

  • What kind of content to create

Then, I tried something simple: I started a Google Doc documenting my life.

At first, it was just a way to write down my experiences.

But as I added more, it turned into something deeper.

I started to gain clarity about the following:

  • My Achievements

  • The challenges I had faced

  • The values I stood for

This exercise helped me realize things I hadn’t acknowledged before.

It even became a sort of mini-autobiography.

Here’s what I learned from this process:

1. Reviewing my achievements

When I listed all my successes, big and small, I was surprised by how much I’d accomplished.

It gave me a huge confidence boost.

2. Reflect on challenges faced

Writing about my obstacles helped me see my resilience.

Each tough moment became a lesson and showed me my true strengths.

3. Add photos for a visual journey

Including photos brought the story to life.

Seeing your growth over the years will give you a fresh perspective.

4. Gain a high-level overview

Once it was all laid out, patterns emerged in my life—showing my:

  • Values

  • Passions

  • Strengths

This overview pointed me toward the future.

5. Shape your brand

Documenting my journey helped me understand what content I wanted to create.

It gave me a clearer sense of my brand and what I wanted to share.

If you’re feeling stuck, I highly recommend starting your life document.

You don’t need to perfect it—start small and build over time.

By doing this, you can gain:

  • A deeper understanding of yourself

  • Confidence in your abilities

  • A more straightforward path for the future

It worked for me, and I believe it can work for you too.
